Day of the Dead - a holiday dedicated to the memory of the dead, held annually in Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala on November 1 and 2. According to legend, these days the souls of deceased relatives visit their home. This holiday follows Halloween. These days, relatives visit the graves of the dead and bring them gifts.
The celebration of the Day of the Dead in the above countries coincides with the two Catholic holidays - All Saints Day (November 1) and All Souls Day (November 2).
